The equivalent of this is if the Clippers said no to CP3 deal because Eric Gordon was too valuable.

I'm not getting the comparison

Klay Thompson >>>>> Eric Gordon

CP3 >>>> Kevin Love

Chris Paul is without a shadow of a doubt the best PG in the NBA. Can you say the same thing about Kevin Love and PF's?

It's so weird to me that the same people on this board who relentlessly defend individual statistics in the face of team accomplishments throw that reasoning completely out the fricking window when discussing Kevin Love.

Gordon averaged 22 points, four assists, and three rebounds the year before he got traded. This season Thompson averaged 18 points, 2 assists, and 3 rebounds. So I'm going to have to disagree on Thompson >>>>> Gordon.

And on Paul and Love, they are both superstars and our both among top players at their position. A Eric Gordon or Thompson should not be the player that stops you trading for them.
