I remember when I was around 8 I got a new go kart for Christmas. Dad took me out to a parking lot to ride around, and I started showing out and tried to come to a sliding stop right next to his truck. I ended up missing the break and hit his open driver side door at full speed. Which ended up bending it back quite a bit.
Dad didn't give two craps about his door when that happened.

Most kids used to drive go carts around that age. No big deal. Not sure when this became such a huge issue.
