UPDATED WITH SPECS: Mac Display/Docking Station Question

My employer is giving me a MacBook Pro for a primary computer. I am looking for a cost effective solution to dock the macbook, have a nice size monitor, and a wireless keyboard/mouse when I am in the office. I like the thunderbolt display, but it is pretty darn expensive. Any suggestions?
PS, I am new to MAC so done know a whole lot about what is out there for them.
=========
UPDATE: The MacBook is a mid2010 model (15"). I am having a hard time finding something compatible. Any help is appreciated.

If it has an HDMI, just use that and get whatever display you want.
You can get bluetooth wireless keyboard and mouse pretty easy. The kind that come with imacs are nice and will last.

It should have mini Displayport out. You can convert that to HDMI, DVI or regular Displayport.

Apple doesn't make a port replicator for the Macs at all ?

as long as power is supplied to MacBook you can close the lid and display via Mini Display port or ThunderBolt

Thunderbolt display is the nicest option, but buyer beware: It has been over 1000 days since they last updated it, and it has an avg update cycle of 1 year. Everyone is expecting new ones in the fall.

He's asking about displays not ports.

Lookup Landing Zone docking stations. Got one for my MacBook Air 13" (the 2.0 pro model) and a DVi to thunderbolt cable. All I needed to do.
I still need to purchase a bluetooth keyboard, as my Logitech MK710 doest play nice with parallels/Win 8 sometimes.

Been looking for something like this but they don't have one for a non-retina MacBook Pro. Do you know of any options similar to that for my model?
