And you didn't even have to go to Princeton or Harvard to learn that.
I'll admit that her Ivy League pedigree was irrelevant to the point she was trying to make.

So out of touch.
"I was a moron a and bad parent, so if *I* was, everyone else must be. Help, govt!"
Sums up big govt thinking.

quote:I appreciate her honesty. Hopefully someone can benefit from it. But if the problem was, as she admits, to the point that her doctor had to pull her aside to talk to her about what she was/was not feeding her kids, that is a very disturbing, very troubling admission. Really makes you wonder about this woman.
I struggled, as a working parent with a traveling, busy husband, to figure out how to feed my kids healthy, and I didn’t get it right,” she explained, sharing a story about her children’s doctor who pulled her aside to talk about her family diet.

somewhat disagree with this statement. while i do not know your age, so i dont know how far back you are going, i'm guessing your grandmother was alot like mine. they typically ate fresh veggies grown out of a garden, not stuff bought in stores that were loaded with pesticides and preservatives. i'm sure they ate meat that wasnt fed growth hormones. my grandparents, parents, and myself and brothers were all fed food either grown by us, caught, or hunted. but i dont completely disagree beings as they typically fried alot of stuff and the magic ingredient to make it taste good was lard.
Both pairs of my grandparents had gardens, but like yours, they fried a lot of food and used a lot of lard. They also used pork to season many of the vegetable dishes, which were always stewed, never steamed. I don't ever recall them serving steamed vegetables or baked fish.

Such a funny quote coming from the ilk that are classic "education snobs".
I'm not shocked, though. I read her thesis. She was clearly an affirmative action placement that was handed a degree.
Half of my elderly family members who barely graduated from high school (and are all retired and living comfortably) have more common sense than she does.

quote:Huh. What makes her think a Princeton or Harvard degree makes her a better parent than anyone else?
I thought to myself, if a Princeton and Harvard-educated professional woman doesn’t know how to adequately feed her kids, then what are other parents going through
Does she realize intelligence or academic achievement are not major entrance criteria any more?
quote:It doesn't take a college degree to be a good parent. You can't get that kind of information from a book.
The sheeple are too stupid
Parents all over the world have been handling the job quite nicely for centuries without Odummy and Moochelle's help.
Most of the troubled kids I ever knew came from the more affluent families, not the other way around.

funny enough, fat is actually good for you. A diet high in carbs is not.

i heard that troglodyte Sharpton comparing the healthy and current unhealthy version of the pizza and fries lunch as if it were some revolutionary change. even just comparing the calories, grams of sugar, mg of sodium and fat content, there was very little difference. And the nutrient differential was negligible. Plus the healthy alternative sounded like shite kids won't even eat.
This country has become truly retarded.

Michelle agrees.
Sad part is, I agree with Michelle. This country being retarded is why she can say the shite she says with no backlash.

So, she is an educated idiot, just like her husband, move along, nothing NEW about this.

Wow.
I just finished reading a good bit of Michelle's thesis.
I never knew it was out there.
It reads like the work of a barely above average, high school Junior.

That doesn't speak to well for her or Harvard. The irony is she probably thought saying so made her sound smart. lol

Still don't understand why she is making such a push do to this in schools, when you can use the EBT card and buy candy, chips and sodas at gas stations. If she and "her side" wanted to make a change to our nations health, putting restrictions on what can be bought with government aid should be the first step.
You realize "her side" has nothing to do with this *state* program. Otherwise, continue the outrage...
