no, quality. They don't churn them out every second like a franchises that oversaturate consumer demand (cough guitar hero, call of duty, etc.)

Every entry is well crafted and a considerable amount of thought and effort goes into each installment

It is hands down the best video game franchise ever.

and it may be odd to say since for all intents and purposes they keep making the same game, but they take incredible risks and follow their own creativity. They know what gamers want better than gamers know what gamers want. No one expected a Zelda game like MM.

For the next gen they wanted another realistic/dark entry, they got wind waker. Then Nintendo actually caved and gave them TP, which is an amazing game (but many were bored with it because they thought it was an updated ocarina) Then they overhauled the entire puzzle system and went into another new artistic direction with SS, another perfect game.

It also bears mentioning that the series contains what is most widely considered to be the best video game ever made

Ocarina of Time

The series has no equal in terms of creativity (which again is ironic because they've made the same game a gajillion times over)

well I just bought windwaker and legend of zelda on the Wii U eshop.

looking forward to starting the series

I'm assuming the reason the rest of the zelda games aren't on the eshop is because they haven't been ported over yet?
