The Dai Li as a group were a worthy creation. Aang probably sympathized given that he learned Avatar Kyoshi founded them. I doubt there was unilateral defection. I mean, at the very least one wasn't ever fully on board. No reason for them to disband entire group. Aang probably suggested to just punish the actual members who turned on the EK.

It's possible HC resulted in more spirits to grant people bending. But I think this season we'll find out there the other sky bison came from. Appa was the only one we ever saw, yet now there are plenty. Had to be hiding somewhere. And someone was probably raising them in secret.

Azula's daughter? That'd raise a host of questions. Ones I welcome. Though I'm hoping he's related to Combustion Man only. But given that Zuko is still alive and kicking, you never know.

And more than an evil Airbender or whatever, lavabending? Thought only an Avatar could manage that. Wonder what HC has changed. Maybe it's made people more powerful? Already seen that the power of the Avatar can be replicated by a spirit powerful enough, like Vaatu did. I doubt he and Raava were the only great spirits kicking around.

I'm avoiding the leaked episodes like the plague. Me of about 6 or 8 years ago wouldn't have been able to wait. But I've mellowed so much since then.

I really need to sit down and finish up season 2, but at this point I guess I should just binge watch the whole season in a run. I just don't care for Korra as the avatar. I get that it would be hard to start with another Avatar because you would lose a lot of your original characters at this point and it would be tough having no references.

They were not a worthy creation. They did nothing of positive value for the Earth Kingdom, at least since Sozin's Comet. They waited and see who would kill who with Azula and Long Feng. They took over Ba Sing Se and largely kept the Earth Kingdom's army out of the war. The Dai Li saw the war as a benefit to them, since people thousands of miles away were difficult to oversee, but when they were coming to their "impenetrable city" (which is what Ba Sing Se means literally translated), they saw it as their way of spreading their power, fear, and ideology. The Dai Li should have absolutely been dissolved and the vast majority of their members executed or imprisoned on oil rigs. They are without question the single worst organization within the universe and could only serve to bite the next Avatar in the arse. You may as well be making an argument that teacher's unions should still be around, despite the fact that the only thing they want is power and they're destroying education.

Seriously, after the ridiculous amount of lobotomizing, you still think they deserve to be around? Name one reason why Aang should have kept these people around.

Lava is earth, so I don't see why an earthbender couldn't bend it.

I just rewatched the first season and I totally forgot about Aman's death scene with his brother Tarrlok. That was very powerful and really well done.
