I think much of what assign to the 90's actually happened in the 2000's.

Hollister didnt even exist in the 90's. Eminem popped up in 1999 but his peak popularity was the early 2000's. Same thing with Timberlake. I'm no authority but I'm pretty sure the tribal armband was a 2000's phenomenon too.

The 90's didnt offer much thats for sure but the 2000's couldnt have been much better...

Yeah...that's what I was thinking when reading his post.

Eminem and Timberlake are not 90s.

And I certainly think of the 70s/80s/90s pop culture the 90s is probably the worst of the three. But there was plenty of good. Videogaming and computer expansion/internet being the the big ones.

Also, "sound systems and sneakers"? Those existed well before the 90's. If you want to bash the 90's you should target Jnco's and bad ska bands.

"I think much of what you assign to the 1990s happened in the 2000s"

THIS. The 90s weren't great but they were infinitely better than the 2000s. Most of what the OP describes only describes the very end of the 90s. The 2000s were an awful awful decade in both pop culture and life in general. The only really bad thing I can say about the 90s is that it was when the political culture of the country moved WAY to the left which has led to the liberal hell the mainstream media gas turned into. Political correctness just started to take off in the 90s and got much worse since 2000.

Sadly, we'l likely never again experience the great pop culture and sense of fun and possibility of the 80s.
