With all the verbal masturbation over Leonard Fournette, let's not lose sight of the fact that Magee was a stud last season, just played in Hill's shadow. He has the potential to do great things this year, and will likely start the season at the #1 RB position.

He and Hilliard are being given their chance to shine and I think they'll grab it by the throat and carry the team on the ground.

Give him #18.

Gonna be a great for LF and DWill to play being Magee and learn from him early on. 1 of the more unheralded players we have, yet he is still really good.

Hes the type of player that could end up having a a pretty good NFL career. Not saying hes gonna be a stud or a 1st rounder... but think he could carve out a nice career in the league as a RB2/3 and special teamer. Versatile RB with the power and strength to run between the tackles, but also the speed / quickness and vision to run outside as well... can catch the ball (played WR for a year at LSU), and can be a fantastic special teams player too. Hes not great at 1 thing, but hes above average to good at everything.

For only getting 86 carries on the year, 6.6carries per game, Magee was extremely efficient rushing for 626yards and 8 TDs (7.3YPC). And was a monster for us vs TCU, TAMU, and Arky. Made some huge plays when we really needed them.

I have some family in the Franklinton area... hes a great kid and comes from a great family. Hard worker, doesnt get in trouble, and is just a well rounded person.

The rumors about him thinking about transferring in his 2nd year were true... he was really disappointed that he didnt get an opportunity to play that much before and thought he deserved a shot.... but stuck it out and kept his head up and worked his arse off. His work ethic and attitude and improvements forced the coaching staff to put him on the field this past year and give him some carries, and once he had that opportunity he never looked back.

I agree Magee is super solid and also agree that he will be the likely starter going into the season.

HOWEVER if he doesn't rush for 250 yds/game and catch another 100 in passes out of the back field the rant will call for Miles head wanting Fournette in the game.

He's Dominic Davis, just more hard-nosed.

I have been saying this ever since LF committed to us. People forget about how good Magee was last year. Him, Hilliard and Fournette with maybe Williams.

I like Magee , but he's not a stud. He's a complementary back that can give you 8-10 carries. Hill was the only stud we had last year.

I really loved what TM brought to the table last year. He always brought a lot of energy with every carry.

Those two True Freshmen are going to have to put in a lot of work and get their blocking skills down pat before TM has to worry about them taking his spot.

I also hope that Hilliard shows a little more energy this season because he and Williams could be two damned big chested power backs and do a lot of damage late in games.

I think Magee will do well, but I think Hilliard has shown his hand. He'll get around 3-4 hundred yards and 6-7 TDs. He's a goal line back.

It took some time (too long imo) but true freshman Hill got 129 carries as the starting RB in the last 7 games for 18.4 carries a game. That was with sophomore Hilliard, junior Blue, junior Ware, and redshirt junior Ford ahead of him. Magee was relocated to WR.

By the time we hit Auburn, Fournette will be getting 17 carries a game or more as the starter.
