"My point of the thread is it seems like people assume a product is the best strictly by the price tag."
Just like many people do with clothes, cars, furniture, liquor, etc. You have to determine where "getting what you pay for" stops and buying a status symbol begins. And if you can truly afford a status symbol, get what you want.
Why did you mention beards? I think beards are still free.

I think he meant the type of person usually has the beard to go with the face paint while wearing the drake camo and sky blasting ducks.

I haven't seen one of these threads in a couple of months!
I love nice equipment. But I still use the same ol floating blind bag I got at Simmons for 90 bucks!! Ten years ago. I use a lot of my equipment for many seasons, so I buy more expensive higher quality goods. I love expensive guns that aren't very practical. Can't help it. But if this thread is about you being too cheap to spring for a Yeti or a little Sitka gear, stop hating. I have a yeti, but only because my wife got it for me. But I see their purpose. And Sitka is just awesome.

I agree about quality stopping at a certain price point and then it just becomes a status symbol to some but the way I look at it is if you got the cash, spend it on what you want.
I've got a friend that spent $26,000 on a skeet gun.
I could care less of the Yeti's hold ice longer I'm tired of my damn latches breaking and having to strap my cooler lid with a bungie cord.
