pretty sure nobody would go willingly swim in a pond if there's a gator hanging out at the bottom even if he's "always been there and haven't hurt no one" 99.9 % of the time

Heard jellyfish are bad also right now. My wife leaves in 2 weeks to go down.. She has been keeping up with it.

Cool man. What does that have to do with sharks? Florida is sharky as hell. You get in the water, you're swimming with the sharks. So get in the water or don't. 99.9% chance it won't matter, but if you do get nipped it will probably just be a few stitches anyway. People get bit over here all the time, especially further south towards the Cape. It's just something you have to accept as a possibility, much like getting into your car and possibly being run over by a tractor trailer (which is about 100x more likely, BTW).
