That's pretty close. However, I've had plenty of trips where I didn't catch anything for hours. Then all of a sudden I find the right spot and load the boat. Doesn't happen all the time, but I don't ever give up after an hour.

I've been putting in at the Butte Larose public launch a lot lately. Fishing north of I-10 in Pelba and Bigeaux.

ETA: I make sure to paddle close by the banks. And keep your head on a swivel. There's some jackasses in big boats out there. Make sure you see them and stay out of the way and you'll be fine. I prefer to go out there on Sunday evenings because the boat traffic isn't that bad.

That has happened to me every time I've fished it.


Oh, and if you fish those willows in the Nort flats, throw a devil's horse or other prop bait while you are trolling to the next clump.
