only stadiums that could compete are probably South Carolina's with all of their chair backs, and maybe one other.

What?

Baum Stadium is without question the nicest stadium in the country. that stadium is a masterpiece

twice as many suites
all chairback
nice outfield lounge where you can drink and grill

it's nicer than Alex Box. That doesn't mean alex box isn't a top 5 stadium, but it's not the nicest. I want the nicest

A serious question: what it the allure for a berm in the outfield? Is is the possibilty/potential of LSU allowing beer out there? Beyond that, sitting on grass..muddy wet grass after spring/early summer rains..does absolutely nothing for me.

Today, the most intimidating field for ole piss would be Tigue Moore at ULL :

That's it

Do you have a champions club? Where you can sit behind homepage as good as a view as the ump?
What about your concessions can you see the game?
What do they have in the suites
Do they have a mini museum?

Baum is nice I just don't believe its nicer

Nice link. Funny that the rankings posted don't go beyond 2008...

Forget this one

Also forget it was the one college baseball stadium listed in the 101 greatest stadium experiences.

So. . . .

Didn't something happen In 2009 that would change this?

Not sure, but who gives a shite? there's no way their concessions suck more than ours

I'm sure nothing but dixie cups and walmart chicken

that's hardly a stadium amenity, if at all

I haven't been to Baum so I can't really fully compare but since the new box opened almost every ranking has but the box above Baum. I'll trust an unbiased opinion over a bias one every day. College baseball daily has no self seeking interest by putting the new box at one.

Edit: I had the oppritunity to sit in the champions club once and it is great one of the best experiences you could have in a college ball park. Good food, better than the typical concessions. Alcohol, tv to watch other sporting events, and the best place to watch the game directly behind home plate. When comparing you can't ignore it.

Pretty positive we get that rankings based off of our reputation to be an intimidating atmosphere, which we hardly are these days,

it's pretty practical that the stadium with more luxury seating and all chairback will be considered nicer than the stadium with less suites and high school bleachers.

I mean, there are things that could be addressed with the New Box. Extending the suites and upper concourse down the lines, individual chairback seating throughout, a more permanent looking batter's eye, a multi-level "mini berm" in right center, flags for the conference teams, LED ribbon boards, RV parking and designated tailgating areas across the street, beer sales for the general seating (push the conference harder on the issue), and have the Tiger Girls more involved than once a year.

That isn't all that goes into a stadium though. Ok it has more suites and chair backs through the entire stadium, but they aren't high school bleachers all but right field have back on the benches. Sure they aren't as nice as having chair backs but they aren't bad. Standing room only is a good plus as well, and we have the area to do this. It takes away from the students in right field because they rather stand behind home plate for 3 innings than grab a empty seat.

You also ignore the cosessions in view of the field, I always hatted having to miss the game because the confessions where not in view of the game. Going into the grand stands to get food instead of under or behind the stands is so much better and. Ames the park nicer.

Baum greater chairs
Suites

The box
Champions club
Confessions in view so the field
More seating capacity.
The intimidator
Champions plaza
Nicer scoreboard

Also just because a stadium has chair backs doesn't make it nicer. Sometimes they will make those chairs so small that you are cramped in them. You could very well argue bleachers with a backing on them is nicer than cramped chairs.

Pretty much.

Alex Box is still a great park right now, but there's nothing wrong with saying it needs some work to get it where we want it to be

The box could easily improve but I still think it is the best college baseball stadium in the country.

It will over time. Part of the charm will be the things that we add over time. Just like the Old Box.
