Skinny people drop dead from heart attacks all the time
And not very many of them are missing feet and legs from diabetes. Not many of them have stints in their hearts from high cholesterol, and not many of them have strokes due to hypertention. If they die of heart attacks, it's probably more often than not, something hereditary, or a freak episode.

You also need to understand that not everyone was blessed with a great metabolism
Pretty much this. I have friends who are the same size they were in highschool, college, and now. One of them never exercies a day in his life (still doesn't) and throughout college he only drank coke (probably 3-4 cans a day) and ate Chef Boyardee like every day. Never gained a pound and still hasn't.
For me, it has always been a struggle. I put on weight easily and if I eat carbs, the pounds just pile on. Exercise is a must and so is portion control.

My family is more fitness crazy than most (my sister is a nationally sponsored fitness model) so maybe I'm a bit biased. I don't work out or live a particularly healthy lifestyle but I understand that there are definite immediate and potential bad consequences by making the choices I make, just like if I changed my habits the consequences would be better. I guess the whole fact that Fat Activism is an actual thing is making my head hurt

This.
While it's true that everyone can lose weight, there is a heavy genetic component that determines how difficult that process is.
I have a friend who is extremely thin, eats like complete shite, and never exercises.
That said, being 300+ pounds is inexcusable.

What about when I eat ranch with my chicken wings?
I love being skinny
Naw, I was referring to people that say "I only ate a salad at lunch" when they had a 240 calorie salad with 400 calories of Ranch Dressing.
And Bleu Cheese on Chicken Wings, bra.

Would you agree that your weight is your responsibility?

Yes, and this has a lot to do with your thyroid, metabolism, and hormones.
If you're very overweight it is worth going to the doctor to see if something isn't functioning properly
If everything is good then you just have to figure your body out and adjust accordingly. It will probably suck and change someone's life dramatically, have to have will power.

360 doesn't read discs anymore so it's basically a Netflix conduit until I get my feet wet with the new insurance gig.
I still say Flyceratops constantly

Story of my life. My weight has fluctuated greatly ever since I can remember. I really made a concerted effort to maintain a healthier weight in grad school.
Once I got married the hours of cardio each week were put to a stop. I quickly gained 25 pounds.
While I am not fat, I still am a lot heavier than I want to be. FML

They do, they just use it for being lazy, and eating.

What if I told you that you didnt have to ever to a single second of cardio again and could get down to a healthy weight and maintain it?
