I'm pretty sure DFH pulled out of Tennessee

I think they recently announced they'd be coming back with a limited line up. Don't quote me on that, but I think that's what I remember hearing.

I have a buddy that went to the Yuengling Brewery in Tampa a couple of weeks ago, he said they told him they'd be expanding into LA by the end of the year.

Are you serious?

That would save me some gas on trips back from Orange Beach. Just hauled 8 cases back on a Smokey and Bandit run.

I can tell you that Yuengling has been looking at Louisiana and has done a preliminary look at the distributors. I imagine they have other markets more attractive. Also, the sons want the expansion and the dad is happy right where they are at. I am fortunate enough to be a big enough player in the Houma area that I would probably have Yeungling reps come through during their inspection.

This is possible but I think that the end of the year is pretty quick. If anything it would be bottle only from the projections I have heard.

Hopefully not. I'd rather they not take up space on our shelves that could be used for a better brewery.

I'm a Yeungling fan and have to agree with you. The buzz would not be this big if Louisiana wasn't so behind in the beer world.

I would welcome DFH with open arms, if it means 60-minute and 90-minute are widely available.

Yeungling.. nah. It's going to take up space on limited shelving.

Yuengling blows, but not having DFH is a bummer.

us definitely coming this year. Last I heard they still hadn't decided who they were going with distributer wise. Talked to the guys from Lagunitas 2 months ago here in BR. They were here checking out the beer scene. They said they were looking to enter the market soon.

I ran to the regional sales rep for Oskar Blues this week and he said their is a hangup with getting into LA. Couldn't tell me what it was. He said LA is on the list and they should have a date, soon.

Is there a legal or political obstacle that is preventing these breweries from coming in?

Firestone Walker, Deschutes, and Oskar Blues. If Louisiana could land these three, plus Lagunitas, there would be a lot of happy craft beer drinkers

Just for a few weeks, then the "meh" will start.

Not if the local distributors get the seasonal releases. Ten Fidy, The Abyss, Parabola, Sucaba, The Dissident, etc...

Then you would need some more good local brewers doing one-offs to complement those.

I know what you mean, I was mainly poking a little fun at the posters on this board. What's sad, about shreveport at least, is managers and buyers in this market are just mad they can't get magic hat #9. It's quite sad I think some of those mentioned above would just collet dust on shelves here...
