If Ohio State and Michigan played for 60 minutes and then three judges told you who won, would you consider it a sport?
"Well...Ohio State scored more points, but Michigan looked more fundamentally sound, so I say they won."
How do you even consider this a good example. Not only is it a terrible hypothetical, but it doesn't even address the point. The objectivity of the winning criteria does not determine whether it is a sport or not.
What about the word sport or its derivation have anything to do with how the winner is decided.
It is seriously "well if it is a sport it is more worthy in my eyes" therefore I can come up with a definition of sport that aligns with what sports I find worthy.
I have absolutely no rooting interest in gymnastics, but if you think there is more sport in badminton then there is in gymnastics because how the winner is decided, then I don't know what to say. They are both sports IMO.

Sidenote, I love the fact that these same "sport/athlete" threads can still go 8+ pages every two weeks on this website.

Well, yeah.

Dude, you're twisting the argument. Nobody argued that gymnasts aren't athletes. We're arguing that gymnastics isn't a sport.
If seven "experts" watch the same thing and can't even come close to agreeing who was the best, then I have a problem with that endeavor being called a "sport."
