It may be more taxpayer friendly to vote for the democrat in November if you know the Senate is going republican.
At least that way Cochran would not be around to assume his traditional throne over the agriculture committee where he passed out pork in record quantities.

Not so sure. Only a thousand net gain votes to a combination of the two republicans opposing Cochran would bring him under 50% now. 50.2%
