I have two big big spinners for when I take out newbies (so they don't frick up my tlds). I have 50lb power pro on each. Pulled an 8ft shark to the surface the other day....of course it took30 minutes.
Too many folks go way overboard on line. The poster above me somewhere is absolutely correct. In fact on my tld15 I use 30lb mono and on my 20 I use 40lb mono. You don't need heavy artillery for snapper.

It's a 21.5' bay boat. It can handle going to the rigs on a CALM day

If that's the case, I wouldn't be too concerned about bigger grouper. The grouper you'll be targeting in the close in rigs you'll be able to handle with your setup pretty easily. Your biggest fish will be big mackerels and big cobia which you would want line capacity for over breaking strength.

Lately trying to learn about Mangrove fishing. I have been using a spinner with 50# powerpro with either 20# or 30# leader. I have been using a double uni-knot to connect line & leader, anybody use or recommend something different.

That's the best braid to fluoro connection out there. I would also start with heavier fluoro and only back down to 20# if they won't hit the heavier line. Oh and I hope you don't catch a damn thing in 3 weeks...

Snapper/Cobia, you should be able to do on a CALM day. Remember that things can get rough quickly so you can't frick around when you are in a boat that size.

Oh, and as I read someone say a few weeks back- I put a dab of superglue on the knot. I'd like to think it gives it a little more strength and doesn't slip all while not making the knot any bigger when the glue dries.

This, but it depends on your rig. I always used 65LB test on a Penn 9500 and 8500, but those were for top water action on tuna. The 9500 would hold 350 yards with a little backing and the 8500 held around 325.

GI93 holds them.
