She said she let Eric read it. She said a lot of what was said was positive and that most of the comments that were a little negative were true and they are working on his weight. But her and Fletcher both said that he carries his weight well and that he is very athletic and the coaches praised his form in the drills calling him out several times to demonstrate how you are supposed to perform the drills.

ETA: also his nickname from the LSU coaches is Big Daddy.

Sounds like he has really good parents and they have a pretty good grasp on the situation as a whole and are doing the right things. My only advice would be to listen to everything and take it all in but really put stock in what the Coaches are telling you.

yeah, I'm sure he does. Weight doesn't mean much. You've got to take a person's entire body into account. BMI, weight, body fat %, height, and family history. Some people are just built like that.

Good for her and that kid. Wish him the best of luck.

That statement right there means a lot. Some kids and some parents get defensive over comments that can be taken negatively. Clearly, Big Daddy and his mother are mature and grounded people. I like that a lot. Nobody is perfect, and one of the worst characteristics for any athlete who wants to be a competitor is to think that the athlete is perfect or even close to it.

Nevertheless, I trust that Big Daddy and his mother are smart enough to realize that there is no IQ test to post on this website, some bitter and angry people post here, and not every "LSU" fan that posts here is actually an LSU fan. It's just a matter of time until some lowlife makes a post that is more than slightly negative. I hope that Big Daddy and his mother will shake that post off like water off a duck's back.

Big Daddy and mother, please read this board with wisdom and discernment: (1) there is some good advice here, (2) not everyone who posts here knows what they are talking about, (3) some people who post here are morons with an adverse agenda, and finally (4) don't believe all of the good stuff, don't believe all of the bad stuff, and ignore the idiots.

Work hard toward achieving your goals and good luck!
