Thanks Rummy. My bad. I was so busy making sure I spelled the last name right, I botched the first...

This is HUGE news!!! He comes in and maybe gets reps this year while having an additional 2 years to play. Also, frees up a spot in the 2015 class. This is a win-win for everybody.
The hires made over the last 2-3 years are paying HUGE dividends....Grimes, Cameron, and Raymond.

Can someone explain the significance of "3 years to play 3"? What might have been another scenario for a Juco player?
Posted on 6/1/14 at 11:57 am to Purple Lion
Most Juco have to stay 2 years under academic rules, and they want to play while they are there, limiting the 4 years of eligibility. So most only have 2 years when they come out. Now, some are redshirting in juco, or getting out earlier, giving them 3 years of eligibility...

A typical JUCO comes in as a junior with 3 years to play 2 (i.e., they played 2 years in JUCO).
He is coming in as a sophomore with 3 years to play 3 (i.e. he only played 1 year in JUCO). He gets an extra year of playing for us, essentially.

I don't know his specifics, but if he comes in for the fall this year he should have 4 to play 3. If he comes in January, he'll have 3 to play 3.

No this is not correct. I believe he already used his RSFR year and his freshman year. SO 3 to play 3.

so he's been in JC for 2 years already and still must go this summer to graduate? If so my expectations are somewhat tempered.

No, the story I think I read, please don't quote me on it is he had his freshman year at college, then 2 semesters and 2 summer semesters in Juco. And he busted his arse to be ready for the ability to be able to play 3 for 3.

Good for depth this year but he'll start next season

This is great news! We need that OL depth.

if only he had 4 years he could've ended up playing with his son dylan moses

Nice 3 years of eligibility, I just assumed 2

I don't have any service accounts so can't find much info on him, but it does appear that he was a non-qualifier and went straight to Juco where he played 1 season.

does this mean we jumped Bama in 2014 team recruiting rankings?
