Just quoting Grimes, man. Bottom line is that much rain in that short of a time is gonna wreak havoc- no matter what you call it.

No doubt.

When they say "100 year event," it really means a 1% event. It's also based on time, so like an hour event, 12 hour event, 24 hour event, and so on. Yesterday was pretty close to a 100 year event if it was over 24 hours. If it was less, then it very well could have been a 100+ year event. Last year in Elmwood they had a 500 year event, while 3 miles away at my house we didn't get a drop. Gotta love the weather here.
