Captain Green is an up-and-coming touring ensemble that's sweeping the gulf south.
Born in the muddy waters of south Louisiana, the boys from Captain Green are cookin up a sonic gumbo good enough to slap yo' mama. Intergalactic space funk is the name of Captain Green's game, taking electric jazz and smashing it face first into the dirtiest funk New Orleans has to offer. Think Frank Zappa meets Dirty Dozen Brass Band. Or Miles Davis meets Galactic.
Captain Green has played with such esteemed acts as George Porter Jr & the Runnin Pardners, Snarky Puppy, Bill Summers, Cope, Earphunk, Naughty Professor, and more. They have been on festival stages in Lousiana, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, and North Carolina. Don't miss these guys!
This could be pretty cool for it only being $10. I'll probably make it out for this.

Having seen Zappa play live (at LSU), I have a hard time imagining others doing his music.

Interesting. I might check this out. Can anyone say anything more about the band? Is it supposed to be a reinterpretation or something?

Here now. Not that big of a crowd but Green hasn't started yet. Righteous Buddha is pretty good though
