Should Wally Pontiff have punched himself in the face for mocking Miss St for dogpiling after winning the SEC tournament? He said " that's why they won't make it to Omaha."

LSU did dogpile when winning a SEC championship under Skip.
Skip didn't win 6 national championships.
The first goal of every season is to win a conference championship. A conference championship is a reason to celebrate.
If you consider only winning a national championship a reason to celebrate then LSU has been a failure in baseball all but six times.

Not really. He won it in the 'somewhat' current format in 2000. In 1996 at Hoover in the old pool play format thinking an 11-5 lead over Kentucky in the 8th was secure he pulled the starters to give them some more rest before the next game vs Alabama only for UK to steal one in the last two innings and eliminate LSU.
But go on and trivialize winning the SEC Tournament and earning a National Seed. Unless they win the CWS its a bad year,right Sparky?

Nothing is wrong with it, that was Skip's team. He can do with them as he chooses but that doesn't mean that every coach that follows has to do it that way. You act as though it is some travesty, it is not.

First of all, the 6 national titles thing has been discovered about 4 pages ago. We all had a good laugh. I chose not to edit because it was a colossal goof.

Next, I'm not mad nor belittling a SEC Toruny title or a top 8 seed. I have simply laid out the facts about why it might not be a good idea. You guys are the posters who are mad. Y'all go tell Skip he's an idiot.

I've got to disagree with you friend. Baseball is a game and supposed to be fun. Could care less if the team dog piles, goes out for beers after, or shoots fireworks off of redfields blimp. They worked their asses off to get where they are and can celebrate whenever or wherever they want. If they didn't dogpile they'd just be dancing in the locker room

Nobody is mad but because Skip didn't dogpile in 1986 doesn't mean diddle. So what ? Until 1998 the SEC Tournament was a dumpster fire. From 1977 to about 1988 only 4 teams made it,from 1993 to 1995 you had some goofy East tourney and a West tourney.Those tournaments didn't mean squat.
But we are all impressed that you are big buddies with Skip and know first hand that Mainieri encourages the dogpiles.
BTW, I doubt Billy Cannon ran around Tulane Stadium either after the 1958 Tulane win or after the Sugar Bowl win over Clemson carrying an LSU flag like the 2003 and 2007 teams did. Why don't you tell Saban and Miles how lame they are.

Skip's teams didn't dogpile because he didn't want them getting too emotional? I'm just trying to get a summary of your argument here
