LSU sporting events are the only reason why I go to Baton Rouge. Outside of that, I can find just as much to do in Lake Charles or Lafayette.
Yeah, besides passing through, I've never been to Baton Rouge when it didn't involve an LSU sporting event. Never.

Anybody who visits a town that size is going to say "there's nothing to do there" because it makes them look "sophisticated" to be so difficult to be entertained. If someone gushed about a town that size and it wasn't some resort/vacation destination it would make them look like a rube.
really doesn't have anything to do with the particular town

the "nothing to do" argument is almost as bad as the nebulous "culture" argument. neither is defined very well

Has anyone listed what there actually is to do in Lafayette?

Very good way to put it. Plenty to do if you know the area and the people.

I think he means for a city it's size. No way it is growing faster than Houston.

That's why I was hoping for a link. I want to see if he's basing that statement on something, or just stating it as a fact hoping it's true.

Big deal. What is Lafayette ranked for things to do?
Posted on 5/25/14 at 3:42 pm to roguetiger15
Gotcha. Fwiw, that link ranks Lafayette as best mid size city for a job, not number 1 in population and growth.
Posted on 5/25/14 at 3:42 pm to Festus
If you click to the left it goes through the methodology. Fwiw.

oil is booming. lafayette is a "mid-city" size oil hub. it's not shocking that it's #1 for jobs

It's part of the methodology.
