I usually get in the patient room in reasonable time but once there consistently wait 45 minutes or longer to see the doc. It's pretty damn frustrating. Last time it hit the hour mark and started walking the halls asking if they forgot about me. I like my doc but the bullshite gets old.

87 minutes. No more no less, yes 87.

sounds great in theory, but most doctors don't show up till an hour after their first appointment is scheduled
I do not believe your comments are accurate, as I have had many early appointments, in fact that is all I will take and I have never waited an hour, the most 15 minutes. That to me is acceptable.
So no I do not think MOST do this but as in every career you have those who are just crap, physician or not.

Never more than 30 min unless an emergency and staff let's patients know. Don't wait at dentist office either.

It really depends one what type of doctor you are seeing. If it is a Family Practice doctor then they will more than likely be closer to the scheduled time. If you are seeing an Internal Med doc then they may be way behind schedule because most of them do rounds at the hospital. If they get held up at the hospital then you are left stuck in the waiting room.

He wants all the rooms filled and the waiting room packed before he shows up. I deal with docs everyday and this is a common practice.
I guess my doctors are out of the norm.

30 minutes after appointment time I'm gone from waiting room
45 minutes from appointment time I'm leaving even if already in exam room

This was a family dr. I have used thus office in the past, I quit using them for the same stuff. Being there 3 or 4 hours waiting and seeing the dr. Gave them another chance A couple weeks ago. Waited about an hour last time. This was a follow up from the last visit. Im sure I will survive. Just need a new dr now.

Two hours. In fact, I was 10 minutes from leaving today when the doctor walked in. I haven't seen one of my doctors in about 9 months because I walk out after 2 hours.
I'm thinking seriously about making it 1.5 hours.

When I worked in public accounting I would make doctors sit in the lobby for 10-15 minutes while they waited to see me and they'd get pissed

Never will get an appointment after first hour of their schedule. Same with dentist appointments. I haven't had to wait long in my experiences.

Probably because you were making them late for their clinic appointments.

I see Dr Chris Lee in Baton Rouge and have never wanted more than fifteen minutes.

I always request the first appointment of the day, or the first spot after lunch.
11:00 appointments guarentee at least a 30 min wait.
You have to remember for doctors that the first appointment for most patients at 8:20 don't show up until 8:30 due to "traffic" and then take another 20 minutes to fill out paperwork/have nurse take vitals, etc., fricking up the whole morning schedule.
This is assuming a clinic doctor with hospitalists coverage for inpatients.

My time is just as valuable

I usually wait longer at the pharmacy.

Honestly I don't think I've waited more than 15 minutes for my doctor. Specialists are another story. When they've been very late it's because they are also on call at the hospital and emergencies tend to pop up regularly.
