I got ticketed for expired registration and expired plates about a week ago. I am headed to the dmv to get my registration taken care of.
Is this a ticket that if I fix my registration that I can go show them the paper work and they will drop the fines?

Why would they drop the fines? You drove around with expired registration. Updating your registration now doesn't change the fact that it was expired.

I tried that. I just wasted a hour of my life waiting for my chance to speak.

A lot of times, yes. Go talk to the ADA on your court date.

Did you break the law? Question answered. took the penalty to get you to get registered, right?

Or before, if they can lower the number of people on the docket down they usually will. Just have proof you took care of everything.

I really don't recommend this. I did this in BR for a bs ticket i got. The ADA just gave me the frick you stare and said, yea i can reduce it...but i'm not, then went about his business.

sounds like you're a habitual offender, what's so fricking hard about keeping your shite organized, and up to date?

Depends really on who you deal with. Cop that wrote me my ticket for expired registration one time said just to take care of it before the court date and all would be good. He was true to his word.

Doesn't registration expire at the same time as plate stickers?
The answer to your questions is "no" you have to renew, plus pay the late fee PLUS pay the fine.
You can count on it being about $150 for the fine.

Possibly. How long have they been expired.

Back when I got laid off from my old job I tried to save money as much as I could while looking for work. So I waited to renew and got busted for it. I took my ticket in with me when I went to renew and they threw out the ticket.
This was in Texas though so who knows.
