It's tough to catch the ball with the defender holding you.

Roby would have been a tough pill to take lol.

I still like the kid from Florida Marcus Roberson.

Verrett held Landry to ZERO catches and held OBJ to TWO catches. One catch was ~15 yards and one was ~8 yards. Kid is a stud. Too bad for TCU he couldn't cover both of them at the same time.

Help me out, which were the ones who kept interfering in the endzone? Should have been called at least twice. That was the main reason why we didn't put them away early.

That corner is legit. Was hoping the Saints would get him instead of the 5'9 WR.

ah well yes that's probably mainly due to the fact that you're an idiot

Yes it is true. Go watch the film.

Verrett did get away with a lot of contact though. He got called for holding in the end Zone once

So, by this thought why didn't he guard either Landry and Beckham more? They combined for 13 catches for 227 yards. Something just doesn't add up. If he was that good then you have him shut down one of the guys and use a scheme to guard the other guy.

Maybe, just maybe, the FO knows better than you? There is probably a reason Gilbert AND Fuller went before him and we just don't see it.

You do realize he is one player? He can not guard both guys at once correct?

Dude don't confuse the facts with my belief. I think Landry and Beckham are bad arse and can't be stopped.

The only reason I even watched the film was to come back and prove this Verrett kid to be full of shite when this quote came out.

After watching the film, the kid was right. He did get away with a ton of holding and only got called for interference once, in the end zone against OBJ. But he did shut them down, in a sense, when he covered them.

Whenever he covered Landry, we threw to Beckham. When he covered Beckham, we threw to Landry.

It was the beginning of the season and TCU had no idea we would have 2 legit 1000+ yard receivers. It makes sense that they wouldn't scheme for Verrett to cover just one guy the whole game bc they didn't know who was the best. That's why he switched from one WR to the other the whole game. To cover the hot hand.

Kid's a baller.

I heard all the yak-yak going on by the ESPN studs and it appeared most of them had been on chemical stimulants (caffeine et al.) during the show. In my mind, the credibility level of those four ranks a 7.5 on a scale of 10. Most of the ESPN announcers are either boring or incredulous.

5'9 WR. So you'd rather a 5'8 cb?

Not sure where people on this site get their information from, but Cooks is not 5'9" and Verrett isn't 5'8".

yep, Cooks is just under 5'10. He's about the same height as Desean Jackson but faster

5'9. I wanted him if we were going to draft a corner. WR was a bigger need IMO

I love how when the CB got drafted they showed a clip of him covering Odell Beckham by which he got torched by him and Mett threw the ball behind him 5 yards allowing the Cb to bat the ball down...

LSU COUlD HAVE RUN all day long on Tcu and there was nothing Tcu ccould haven't done about it but mett needed the practice, Our receivers did great concidering they had to drag defenders all over the field with the back field ref cheering tcu on and lending a yellow flag when they could when Lsu was on defense !
