Salmon/steelhead are running if you like to fish. Plenty of guides in the area.

I'm actually going to Seattle in August for a Safeco conference! Is she attending the same training conference? That would be pretty funny

All good advise from above. Would only add, take a sailing day in the Pudget Sound through each f the 3 gate of their largest Lakes, Union, Washington, and Semamish ( know I am butchering the spelling, but that is frenetically how I recall it sounds). A day on the water is quite awe inspiring appreciating the beauty of this fine city from all waterfronts.
