That is the one place I feel the best with "overpaying". Do not go off price with the framer, go off quality of work, recommendation, and feel for the person doing the work. A quality framer will help you with schedule, other subs they "prefer" working around, and they most literally set the entire foundation for all the remaining work (other than actual foundation). Any mistake or lack of quality by a framer will only be compounded through the rest of the process and is very hard to correct or conceal.
