Some parts of Hollywood are not the best I worked that area.
I don't seeing it becoming the next Detroit though.

Do you remember the scene where they are in the armory drawing their weapons and they look on the tv and see the ships exploding of the coast. I pretty much made that scene I think. I really captured the uncertainty and apprehension the director was going for.

Has the same thing happened to the California porn industry?

They need to relocate to New Orleans.

Nola would take them with open arms and I might have some uh, talents to provide so to speak.

1. Aaron Nola is a good catholic boy so he wouldn't associate with heathens.

2. You know you have to do gay porn before they let you bang chicks right?

Do you think 50-60 years ago that today's Detroit was even a thought.. The weather will allow Los Angeles to avoid Detroits fate IMO but to not even think it's a possobility is wrong.

As for Freeman.. I wish his focus wasn't so singular because he brings good information to the table on the subject.. He doesn't look at the positives enough and many studies don't really do the ancillary benefits justice. I know many people in the industry that have moved to Louisiana over the past 5 years be use the work is so steady..

I also remember when and how all this started as my father was part of the group that lobbied the state for this to happen. They will tell you that the original plan called for the tax credits to have been phased out by this point with the hope that the proper infrastructure would support the industry without the tax benefits. I don't think they believed so many states would follow suit and cause the ongoing arms race.

Yes I think Hollywood can go down. I worked for in Hollywood not every part of that area is nice believe me.

I think Los Angeles is a huge city with good weather and huge population. Now the area may recreate itself which some areas could improve.

Nola is shorthand for New Orleans.

Are big-budget movies ever shot entirely in one place?

they are not.

Hollywood isn't going to die, all of the writers and directors live there. and they do so for a reason, much like silicon valley its a desire to congregate together for networking effects.

I can see shooting continue to decline in southern california, just b.c its so expensive. But so what? the actors, directors, and writers will continue to live in SoCal, and keep the area booming.
