This isn't true. The content(non-redacted) was only given to congress after the FOI request, That is why they are Calling Kerry to testify, because it wasn't released, and he promised this when taking over that job...

So now Issa is lying. Got it.

if stevens was running guns, then this scandal could potentially be huge. Not quite iran contra level stuff, but could take out Clinton for 2016. And really tarnish patreus. The thing of course, is that isnt what krauthhammer, o'reilly, and this board talks about. They talk about what rice said on the morning talk shows.

He wasn't. Not saying some manpads didn't end up in Syria with indirect CIA assistance (that's an unsubstantiated trail as of now), but there will be no connection found involving Stevens and running guns. That's a peripheral issue which takes away from the principal issues and unleashes the conspiracy theorists. Even if someone chooses to believe that, Stevens would have no cause or reason to actually go to Benghazi as part of such an operation. The manpads arrived in Turkey a week earlier and this was Stevens' first trip to Benghazi as Ambassador.
They should go with the two issues at hand - the State Dept's complete failures leading up to Sept. 11th and the cover-up that began the night of the 11th.
It would be unwise to try to use speculation about gunrunning by State as a basis for the activities of the committee. If evidence comes out leading to a need for a separate investigation into that topic, so be it. But it needs to be separated upfront, or the Republicans will end up with egg on their face when they can't offer any proof, and that will completely take away from the actual accomplishments of the committee regarding the primary Benghazi issues.
The Ghaddafi regime's weapons arsenal was spread out throughout the country as warehouses were raided during and after the civil war. Those weapons, including manpads, are estimated to be in at least 14 countries at this time, getting there mostly overland via small groups of militants.
The Republicans need to stay focused and keep their eye on the ball, and avoid such distractions. Should evidence arise to indicate a separate gunrunning story has validity, that would be cause for a separate and distinct investigation.

The GOP is in serious need of some perspective.
Was it awful? Yes. Does the administration deserve blame? Of course: just as every other administration does when terrorist attacks happen.
We've had a dozen "bombshells" in the past 2 years that have amounted to nothing. Krauthammer said the GOP is doing a bad job of making the case. Maybe this is simply b/c there isn't much of a case to make.
