It's true for me at least, mine hasn't managed it since I bought her one 3 years ago. No failures either. My build on the gaming board proves I have no issue buying decent stuff for a PC, but my wife is completely illiterate with no interest in learning. I got sick of playing IT everyday, this has solved that. She has learned to do things on it far beyond her skill on a windows computer without any assistance from me.

I don't think a drive has to be time machine compatible, but I just use standard WD drives for the most part.

I would get a Macbook if it weren't $1,000.
