Stop talking to me like you know who I am. In fact, just stop talking to me. We have very different few points on this. I believe, that you are a victim of fear and intolerance. Fear has driven you to hate and immoral choices based on situations that rarely happen.

Is shooting an intruder in your home until they stop moving murder or self defense?

In the vein of this case, because that is what is being discussed, murder. There was never any intent to harm from the children entering the premises.

No you misunderstood. In the vein of your home. Would it be murder or self defense to shoot an intruder until they stopped moving. I'm not going to call you names or be a dick. I just want to understand your definition of murder.

On a side note... It's not up to the victim of a home invasion to decipher the intent of the invader.

I did absolutely nothing but judge what you said, which indicated quite clearly that you wouldn't kill someone who entered your home because you had different ways of dealing with. I'm curious what different ways you have in your bag of tricks that's going to prevent you from being a victim in a you or your family versus them scenario besides you wishing it away.

If only intruders sent a memo out before hand as to their intentions so we all knew what they were up to first.

Maybe we should get to know them first, maybe invite them over first.

You don't live in the real world, and that is why you're a victim.

Thats a complete bullshite assumption.

Statistically speaking people that break in to your house have the intent to harm you.

What this old guy did was wrong, no doubt, but if two 16 yr olds broke in to my house in the middle of the night they'd meet he business end of some sort of weapon I have.

This

The thread title and the way some are portraying this event with the "protect my home mentality" is misleading. This wasn't a home invasion, the guy actually staged the entire event.

They entered a home that they thought was empty like the homeowner planned and they weren't armed. He isn't much different from a serial killer who chooses to kill prostitutes because he thinks it's easier to get away with.

The kids made a really stupid decision, but not one that deserved execution.
