and the outrage is basically hypocrisy from NBA fans, players, coaches, analysts, etc, b/c they already knew about this

if they couldn't get out and make a big deal out of this during the past decade, they've waived their butthurt, imho

I agree with what you are saying...but I modified your statement to even further your point. She was his public trophy...someone he paraded around. The image thing is central to her value to him.

Meanwhile, I haven't seen anything that indicated that he has discriminated against anyone in the Clipper organization...or created a hostile workplace due to his overt racism. And, even if he had, that's that where the outrage is coming from.

This is manufactured in large part by attacking an easy target (a rich racist POS).
