I had a 15' Carolina Skiff when I was about 16. Put the plug in the boat, launched it, ran around for a couple hours. Then I noticed it was getting really hard to get on plane. Took the gas lines apart, manually checked everything. I finally get back to the launch and get the boat out of the water and surely enough, I left the plug out of the space between the two hulls. That boat weighed about 3 times what it was supposed to.

Not quite a boat launch story, but I know a guy that lost his boat on hwy 90 because he did't strap it down. He was drunk. Got home and called the cops saying someone stole his boat. They came pick him up for DWI.
