First watch? You think it's been good so far? You know nothing Qwerty.

Well I just finished season 8. The character dynamics continue to be great, particularly Sam and dean. It's unfortunate that the best side character, bobby, is gone. There certainly have been some great, offbeat episodes as well that have kept me laughing.

The mythology and plot development of the show has jumped the shark several times already, but the ending to season 8 really bothered me. Am I really to think that they would pass on the chance to close the gates of hell after all that has happened?

It was good to see the prophet use a little creativity in weaponry, which Sam and dean lack. The super soaker filled with holy water or cleaning products should be a no brainer. There's so much more they could do though to make their lives easier. Just offhand they could fill a short hose or hula hoop with salt to stand in or put around innocents, so a light breeze wouldn't blow the salt away. They could keep exorcism spells on recordings on their phone. They could have thought of the devils trap handcuffs long ago. The bullet with a devils trap, also a good idea. And speaking of bullets, why did he not at least ask Sam colt how he makes the gun and ammo when given the chance? And why in the world did they not take mjolnir with them?

It would break the show. Shouldn't have been introduced in the first place.
