You should go to an e-cig store and buy the best unit they have, it should be like $100. The cheap units are CRAP! Once you have that you'll only be at like $1-$2 a day and you can puff all you want.

So does that $100 get you everything (unit, battery, coil, juice??)

I saw 2 guys the other week vaping and Im like what the frick is that( i knew what it was just hadnt seen one before). Im bout ready to give up cigs again and try something new

This may help those of you looking for a setup. Just ordered this a few ago.

You should be able to find an ego style starter kit that comes with a Kanger clearomizer in the $35-$40 range. Mt Baker Vapor is one of the cheaper places to buy juice. $25 worth of juice (100ml) should last at quite a while (3-4 weeks minimum) depending on how heavily you vape. A 5 pack of replacement coils for The Kanger clearomizers are $8-$10 and will last a couple of months.

Ya you can get everything for $100. Your best bet is to just go into a store and have them explain it all to you, its kinda complicated at first. If you are in Houston I am sure there are dozens of stores that only sell e-cigs.

Ya you'll hear about atomizers and cartomizers, tankless vs non-tankless, different kind of juices etc. Its just way easier to go there and have them explain everything to you.

It works man. You're still gonna crave em and there will be opportunities for you to smoke them and when those opportunities arise u have to test your will. Once you test your will a few times it becomes much much easier going forward.

You will start to realize that all the bullshite that your feeling is all the crap cigs do to you and you'll want to rid yourself of it.

The thing the e-cig does, for me at least, is take that 'edge' off. When you feel yourself giving in just take a couple hits of it and it'll take that initial edge off.

95+% of smokers relapse on their own

30-40% relapse while in support groups

get a support group

One of my best buds hooked me up with the whole setup. He is going on 8 weeks now. He got his buddy to do it and now I'm doing it. I also have a guy at work vaping as well which helps big time because I work at a frickin dealership where everyone smokes. That's a pretty good support group I think.

And of course my parents and close friends.

Are you a Louisiana resident or do you live in Arkansas? Louisiana has the Smoking Cessation Program where they will pay for the doctor's consultation visit, the perscription drugs(Chantix), patches or whatever to help you quit. Contact them, I did.

I quit on February 12th. I wish you luck. I have a great incentive on this effort. I like to have died on that day because of smoking related illness and 3 more stints in my heart.

I live in Arkansas but thanks for the info anyway. Ain't gonna lie, it helps to talk about and talk to people who have done it and been successful. Congrats!

I did a lot of research and talked to a lot of people before I got mine..

For starters... Get a digital one, not mechanical..(this may change later, but this is what you want to start with)

Secondly, don't buy a starter kit unless you really just wanna see if it'll work for you... if this is the case I suggest trying the disposable blus, if they work for you AT ALL. skip the starter kit and go straight to something like this.

It's the Zmax 3 vape... there are a lot of others like it but it's the features you should look for.

What this does is it's basically your battery supply... but since it's digital it also regulates your drag so you get an even drag from beginning to end of battery life.. you can also turn the watts up and down to get a really big drag or less of one. This one goes from .5 to 15 watts.. I keep mine on 8 all the time. but the variable part makes it customizable for you get what you want and like.

Also get a big battery that fits it... an IMR 18650... This battery will last you all day easily.. I suggest buying two to swap out, you also need a charger for it.

Then you'll need a tank, this is the part that holds the fluid and what you put your mouth on... I got a kangertech areotank... it has some holes that allow more air to flow through which I like and it's adjustable... If you buy it comes with two dual coils usually... like this...

Next, you'll need to know about replacing those coils and what a dual coil is.. the way these things work is by sending a current through a wire to heat it up (like a old school light bulbs). That wire is wrapped around a wick that soaks in the fluid... When it's heated it vaporizes the fluid... Depending how much you vap it'll last you a week to two weeks usually... If you buy a dual coil (which I recommend and has two wicks) you can get a good solid hit.

The only think I didn't like was the metal tip... I took a rubber cover they use at the store for samples, wrapped some electrical tape around the metal so the rubber sample tip fit snug, and then put some shrink tubing I got from lowes over it and made my metal tip a nice rubbery one.

Altogether (and I got mine at a local store, not online) I got the Zmax 3, the kangertank aerotank (that came with two coils), two IMR 18650 batteries, the charger, and my first bottle of fluid for $203... you can do it much cheaper online.. but I like supporting local small businesses.

Make sure where ever you get your fluid from though it's made in america... other countries put some nasty shite in there.

also, these things can be a bit finicky.. if it stops working, you can take it to the local shop you bought it from and usually it is an easy fix for free... or you can figure it out on your own... Usually has to do with something not being tightened down right or user error.

Another big tip is when you change coils... make sure you let the fluid suck into the new wick really well.. several drags on it with out pressing the button will help do this.. otherwise your burning a dry wick and it will taste bad and probably be bad for you.

Also, if you are a pack to a pack and a half day smoker make sure you start with level 18 nicotine fluid... you can go down later if you want.. but start with this.

Lastly.. treat it like a cell phone without a case... they are durable but parts can break if you drop it.. But with a setup like this you can usually replace the breakable parts fairly cheap.. I'm trying to come up with an idea for a good Otterbox for mine.. it may end up being nothing more than some padding and shrink tubing to hold it in place.

Which vape company should I invest in?

I could never invest in cigs but this vape thing is a different animal and seems almost as addictive plus currently cooler than cigs.

Just have plenty of batteries and juice. If you have that you wont even miss smoking, not one bit. Its SOOOOO easy to stop with e-cigs, you don't miss a beat.

batteries and juice back ups are important, but so is an extra vap IMO... it's like a cell phone.. if you are good with keeping up with your cell, you'll be good with keeping up with your vap.. but eventually you will leave it somewhere.. with a cell you can just wait til the next day to call or text.. with a vap you will want it then... a backup is always a good plan.

If you do only have one and you misplace it or leave it somewhere... I suggest going to a store and paying for a disposable "like the blu" instead of buying cigs.. It won't be as good... but it'll get you by.
