Is the transfer case going into 4wd, but the front tires won't actually spin? Since you said 4wd, I am assuming you meant the lockout hub

No, the hub works, it goes into four wheel drive fine. It's the bearings in the hub that I think is the problem. When I jack it up, it doesn't seem to have any play in it (other than what's normal for a truck with 160,000 miles on it). It's the sound that makes me think it's the bearing. The hub is completely sealed with the bearings though, so it's just as easy to change the whole thing. The truck is driving fine, it just has what sounds like tire noise (although much louder) when I hit 45 mph+. I can also hear a slight whirring noise when slowing down.

If it helps, the truck also pulls to the right slightly when I hit the brakes. The noise is coming from the left side.
