This is Mike, Walter's oldest son. My bother Steve and I have been following these posts since Lucy made the notification here Saturday. My Mom has not yet been able to read them; we are saving them for her.

LSU was a major part of my Dad's life, and along with the outdoors were his greatest loves outside his family. He followed all LSU sports for as long as he was able.

To all who have posted here, on behalf of our family, I say thank you. It warms our heart to hear again how he along with John touched so many for so long. We are proud of the work he did for so long and we are proud to have been able to share him with so many.

Thank you agiain.

Go Tigers.

Walter Hill and John Ferguson were such a part of my childhood. Watching Mr. Hill on WBRZ sports or the midday show with Jean Wheeler or listening to him on Saturday nights from Tiger Stadium made growing up in BR a special time. My prayers are with your family...God Bless

Thank you Mike. Not only do I remember listening to your Dad and John Ferguson on the radio in the late 60s/early 70s, but also watching him host the 'Charlie Mac' show on Sunday mornings...
