Mexico has stricter gun control laws than the United States.
In Mexico in 2010, there were 10.0 gun homicides per 100,000 population for a total of 11,309.
In the same year there were 11,078 gun homicides in the US which works out to 3.5 per 100,000 population.
You were nearly 3x as likely to get killed by a gun in Mexico DESPITE stricter laws.

Sure. Just like you're more likely to get shot in a gun free zone than you are to get shot at a gun show.

Walk right in, sit right down
Eric, let your guns roll on
Walk right in, sit right down
Eric, let your guns roll on
Everybody's talkin' 'bout a new way of walkin'
Mexicans will lose their lives!
Walk right in, sit right down
Eric, let your guns roll on

There is no real law in Mexico. The Police work for tips...if you tip them good enough you'll just get a warning

Mexico may have a crapton of laws on the books ,but their corruption levels are through the roof. Police will just leave you the hell alone for a small fee.
