No, because she grew up in an area where crime was a big issue and a constant threat. I, on the other hand, grew up in a rural area (we didn't even start locking our doors at night until I was in middle school) where I wasn't nearly as concerned with crime as I was with random swamp monsters or wildlife attacks. I'd hear all kinds of crazy shite coming from those woods as a kid, but obviously, they don't really frighten me now.
