If all of my guns are guns anyone can buy at a gun store is there any point in setting up a trust? I also have no plan to buy a full auto, short barrel rifle, or otherwise illegal gun.

It's a felony to possess an NFA item without proper registration. This is the sole reason you would want a trust allowing others other than yourself to possess the item.
