You know Money, the devil is always in the details.
The opposition sounds reasonable, right? They just want to cap the petition period at a year and save money by taking advantage of the November election day, right?
We if you go to the secretary of state's website, you can see there is a Nov. 4th election already scheduled with a December 6th. runoff election already scheduled.
So why did Dorsey pick Nov, 4th as the drop dead election and not Dec. 6th.?
I'm guessing this is why:
July 23 is the last day for getting a proposition on the Nov. 4th ballot.
So do the math; The Advocate reported the SG drive began on 9/23/13 and the cutoff day if Dorsey's amendment passes, etc. is 7/23/14 then the SG people would only have 10 months to start their drive, certify the signatures, and then get the proposition on the ball.
That's part of the truth too.
