Can't help but wonder if caddies actually help the golfer or just serve as a distraction from all the pressure/someone to talk to/hold their hand.

Good caddies are instrumental in providing correct info and knowing when to support and when to offer a suggestion. They are also part psychologist. Good ones are worth a lot if you are a good player. The best caddie in the world can't make a scrub win.

He'll OUIMET won the us open with a 10 yr old as his caddie
