12 is overkill for almost everything you will ever do with a shotgun other than some waterfowl, turkeys, and deer.

Stand at the back of a skeet shoot and watch people getting beat to death with a 12 while shooting clays and you will agree the 20 is superior.

Just my opinion.

Shooting 12ga with low brass target load beats you to death?? c'mon man. Its not bad at all. My SO is 5'2 105lbs and can handle it with ease.

Shooting slug is a different story. I prefer carrying a 20ga with a a 20" slug barrel in the woods over a 12ga any day of the week. The 20ga is lighter and has much less recoil than the 12ga when shooting slug.

So a 12ga is overkill for everything except 90% of what you do with a shotgun.
