I use to seek out additional fat sources for my diet (nuts, avocado, whole eggs) but read a few books that suggested getting away from that when taking in a large amount of carbs per day.
there was a thread on this about a month ago.

correct. the body does a poor job of managing carbs and fats at the same time (I may be supporting paleo here indirectly ). Basically, if you take in a large portion of carbs and fats at the same time, a larger portion of those fats will be stored than if you ate the same amounts but separated them by a few hours.
