From what little research I've done and from talking to my friends doing the Paleo thing, I really can't say it should be considered a fad diet. At it's core, it seems like a good approach to healthier eating. Of course I will never follow anything very strictly.

Then do more research and try using primary sources when you do. As it is promoted, it is a fad. People touting it as a reason for their rapid initial weight loss generally seem to conveniently forget that happens anytime you get your lazy arse moving and start eating a bit better regardless of a specific diet. People are making money promoting these diets because they know most people don't have the education to question the claims and do their own homework.

What of the success many are having overcoming GI issues, diabetes, thyroid issues, allergies, MS, etc - that people attribute to a paleo diet? Is that a fad?
