I would like to work as a baseball ump, anyone know of a good way to get started on this in baton Rouge area?

If you are interested in doing LHSAA games, go to the website and look for the assignment secretary for the Baton Rouge area for baseball. There is an officials section of that website.
Otherwise, assuming the weather is good tonight, drive out to any of the larger BREC parks where you see a game in process, Cypress Mounds, fields in Ascension, etc. Go walk around and look for someone in charge, introduce yourself and tell them you are interested in umpiring, and they will tell you who to talk to.
I know in New Orleans there used to be at least three different associations. Haven't done it in many years, so I don't know how it is now. Back when I was involved, there was no LHSAA officials association, so maybe it's different these days.
