The flaw in this article, and all similar pieces, is that we really haven't had a true Republican in a long, long time. The party of control at the lowest level possible insists on making local issue a centerpiece in their national platform.
The extremes in both parties are frightening. More freighting to me at least, is that the extreme left has won the White House, and most people, including traditional Democrats, don't see this as an issue.

check out the cheating congressman thread...the thing I'm taking away from that is not that the guy who cheated on his wife is wrong, but that it's not fair that he should have to admit when he's wrong if the dems don't. This is the kind of bullshite that insures we keep the status quo in government. NEITHER party has to actually do anything as their lowest common denominators will always vote party line.
