And it just adds validity to the notion that the regular season doesn't mean anything.

This is such a dumb statement that has now been used several times

So the team that beat the overall #1 seed in the regular season AND in the tourney isn't talented or makes them a valid team?

Or the team that has SIX incoming McDonald's All-Americans that are finally gelling at the right time doesn't make them a valid team?

So according to the BCS lovers, you would rather have a team that can't beat a 7 seed on two separate occasions and a team that lost in the round of 32 meet in the title game because they had the two highest rankings? That sounds just awesome

Sorry that college basketball is a little too complex for most of you.

why didn't they do it over the 30+ games in the regular season, then? that was a legitimate sample. the tourney? not so much

basketball is a weird game when outlier games happen often. that's why basketball elimination series should be 5-7 games ideally, but 3 game series minimum if time is truly an issue

No. It's an accurate statement. UConn finished 3rd in their conference this year and now they are playing for a national title.

Kentucky finished 2nd in a shitty SEC and lost to the #1 overall seed three fricking times this year. Yet they get to play for a national title as well.

The regular season does not mean shite.

No one said the 2 teams aren't deserving. They said that is caused the regular season to have almost no importance. Which is true
