There is a pit bull lying at my sleeping daughter's feet at this moment.
That dog is the best dog we've ever had. She was a rescue, you could say. She was emaciated when we found her abandoned on a dead end road.
I think dogs remember the bad times. She whimpers when we take her collar off.
She is 75 lbs of muscle and as gentle as a dog could be.

You're either very brave, confident, or stupid.
I guess time will tell.

it'll snap and kill your whole family because that's the only thing pits do. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconrolleyes.gif)

That was almost word for word the description of one of the three pit bulls that have killed children in the past few days. If memory serves me right, the owner of that pit bull put pictures on Facebook of her dog with the 5 year old girl the dog would go on to kill only days later. I pray what happened there does not happen with you.

I've met some that seemed like great dogs, but they're unpredictable. Genetics dictate actions in certain situations. Some things just set them off unexpectedly. It's not the fact they might bite, all dogs have that potential, it's the fact there's little most can do without outside assitance when they do attack.

Congrats on being a terrible father.

You're acting as if this is a good thing to have a dog with this type of a psychological profile to be a the end of your daughter's bed. If anything that makes it even more unstable and more likely to attack your child. Any good or remotely smart father would know this, but hey, you're adopting a poor breed known for violence out of a likely violent upbringing, and letting it sleep at the end of your daughter's bed. Fine parenting there.
